Orian offers translations from Japanese into English of the following documents.
(See below for more information)
Translation Charges
Translation charges start from 20 JPY per source character
Contracts and Memorandums
Orian offers highly accurate translations of all kinds of contracts, agreements and memorandums.
The type of agreements commonly found in Japan are:
Agreements for the sale of goods
Distributorship agreements and agency agreements
Construction agreements
Joint venture agreements
Intellectual property rights agreement
Stock purchase agreements
Lease agreements (property, goods, etc.)
Service agreements
Loan and guaranty agreements
Employment contracts
Confidentiality agreements and non-disclosure agreements
License agreements
Maintenance agreements
It should be noted that in the majority of cases, only the original Japanese version will carry any weight in Japan and thus translations are considered to be ‘for reference’.
To this end, Orian's translations retain the style and format of the Japanese contract. I consider this to be particularly important when the contract is being discussed in a business meeting so that both parties can easily find the clause being discussed.
I believe that translations should use “plain English” and endeavor to ensure translations are understandable to the layperson.
Should you wish your translated contract to be effective in another country I recommend that you consult with a lawyer in the other country and request that the translation be rewritten or adapted in accordance with the laws of that country.
