Frequently Asked Questions
[Rates & Payment]
Q: What is Orian’s standard rate and express rate (quick turnaround)?
A: Orian’s standard rate starts from 20 JPY per source character.
Orian’s express rate starts from 24 JPY per source character.
* Express rate applies to same day and next day delivery and orders placed on Fridays for delivery the following Monday.
Q: How do you calculate the translation price?
A: The price of a translation can be calculated either according to the number of characters in the source document (source base) or the number of words in the translated document (target base).
Calculating the price by the number of characters in the source document ensures you know the final cost of your translation prior to ordering the translation.
If you prefer to pay by target word count, quotations will be a rough estimate and the final charge shall be based on the actual number of words in the translated document.
Source base → Final price indicated when place order → Orian’s standard practice
Target base → Final price indicated when deliver translation → please consult with Orian
* Paying by target output, whilst not standard Orian practice, is an option. In such cases, the price indicated on the estimate will be a rough price and the final price will be indicated when the translation is delivered.
